Improvisation for Adults
🎠Intro to Improvisation
Inspired by the groundbreaking techniques of Viola Spolin and Keith Johnstone, this class introduces young actors to the world of improv through engaging games and exercises. Students will build confidence, creativity, and teamwork while learning to think quickly and perform without a script—just like the comedians of The Groundlings and Second City!
🎠Improvisation I
Expanding on foundational skills, this class dives deeper into spontaneous storytelling, character development, and collaborative scene work. With a focus on the fast-paced, character-driven style of The Groundlings and the ensemble-based principles of Second City, students will develop their comedic timing and learn to trust their instincts.
🎠Improvisation II
For students ready to take their improv to the next level, this advanced class refines long-form scene work, explores status dynamics (a hallmark of Keith Johnstone’s methods), and sharpens character creation. Inspired by the legendary performers who trained at Second City and The Groundlings, students will push their boundaries and find their unique comedic voice.
